Neerja is a British actress, who graduated from Cambridge University before training at the Drama Centre London. In her latest feature film AWAIT FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS Neerja plays one of the leads Annji alongside David Bradley & Abigail Cruttenden directed by Johnny Kevorkian, produced by Jack Tarling (GOD'S OWN COUNTRY). Neerja played the title role of Indamora in THE CAPTIVE QUEEN at Shakespeare's Globe. She played the trader Salanio in THE MERCHANT OF VENICE for BBC Radio 3 set in the modern day City of London alongside Andrew Scott, Ray Fearon, Hayley Atwell & Colin Morgan. Neerja also worked with Peter Brook during his workshops for THE PRISONER at The National Theatre Studio improvising around the themes of punishment and forgiveness. Neerja played Hermia to great critical acclaim in A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, completing Sir Trevor Nunn's directorial canon of all 37 of Shakespeare's plays as part of the 400 year celebrations. In the play UNTOUCHABLE directed Kathryn Hunter, written by Peter Oswald about Dr Ambedkar, a freedom fighter for the Dalit caste during the independence of India, Neerja played multiple roles including a mother and follower of Ambedkar, his Brahmin teacher and a male freedom fighter. In SOLD directed by Oscar & Emmy award winning Jeffrey Brown, starring Gillian Anderson & David Arquette with Emma Thompson as a producer Neerja played Anita, a survivor of trafficking. The film was a Best of Festival pick at the Palm Springs International Film Festival 2015. Prior to this in HACKNEY'S FINEST, Neerja plays the role of Pari, an Afghan biker chick, directed by Chris Bouchard. She was also seen in BBC's CASUALTY in an episode directed by Oscar nominated Ian Barnes.
